Vietnam's Women's Union (VWU)
Founded on October 20th, 1930, it is a mass organization representing all strata of women throughout the country. From its outset, the Union has encouraged women to participate in the cause of national defense, construction and development. The VWU works for the equality and advancement of women, along with protecting the legitimate legal rights and interests of women. The VWU's short-term objectives are to encourage all strata of women to tap potentials, creativity and fine qualities of the Vietnamese women to accelerate the national industrialization and modernization.
